Craig and I have been making the most of our weekends. With his new(ish) job, he has every Friday off, and we have been filling our weekends with beach trips, camping, BBQ, hiking... all kinds of good stuff. However the weekdays I do really important things like watch the Today show and play with my dog. The truth is, as much as I love free time, I crave a schedule. Without one, I seem to just flounder about and don't really get anything done. There is nothing motivating me to stop watching reruns of CSI Miami.
I know some people who don't get summers off are probably so annoyed by this. Shoot, me in May is super annoyed by this post. I go back to work in about 2 weeks. And I have to admit, I am looking forward to it. (Please remind me of this sentence when I am looking at classes of 35). Kids don't start until after Labor Day, so I still feel like I have plenty of summer time left. In that time I hope to accomplish some more stuff off my Summer Bucket List and I have a couple projects that I want to get done as well.
And now I will leave you with some funny things...

BAHAHHAA at the one about algebra. I found myself thinking the exact same thing about calculus the other day. About how awesome it feels that I have never once needed to know anything I devoted two miserable years of my life to trying to comprehend. It's amazing.
Haha that last ecard cracks me up! :) Yay for going back to work soon!
I extra love the eCard. Sounds like great classroom management to me. ;)
I'm actually jealous that you get to go back to work. Sigh.
Anyway, I also spend most of my days watching the Today show and playing with the dog. Sounds about right.
I've been wondering where you've been! My email comment to you just asked when you're going back, and here you are answering it.
TOO FUNNY! I completely understand this post. I really don't want to go back to work, but at the same time, I haven't accomplished much of anything this summer. My house is still a disaster, and I bought scrap booking stuff to scrap book our trips to Texas...I'm excited about that project....nothing. Despite the fact that I lack energy after a day of work, I know that have a routine will actually motivate me to get things done. It makes no sense. But that's just the way it is. lol
I love those E-cards. Hilarious!!
The only reason i do blog in the summer is because i do have to work haha! i would be too busy having fun like you are if i wasnt stuck in the office ;)
Same here. I haven't written a blog post in almost a MONTH and I really have no excuse. It's quite terrible. I hope you enjoy your last few weeks of summer!
Hurray for having fun adventures all summer long! I kind of think I'm the opposite as far as schedule, though. As long as I can make up my own schedule--I'm happy as a lark. But give me a 40 hour work-week and I just feel sad at how much time it uses up when I think about all the interesting things I could be accomplishing. That's not necessarily a good trait to have...
