This (Three Day Weekend) I..

I totally stole this idea from Erika. She accomplished more on this MLK Day off than I did over all three days this weekend.
This three day weekend I accomplished...
1) I finished season 2 (and ordered season 3) of Psych
If you haven't seen this show on USA, you are missing out. It is just silly humor with a mystery thrown in. It's fun, there aren't any guts, and I usually giggle when I watch it.

2) I created my Zumba set list for the after school program I run.
I got suckered into teaching Zumba last spring. Tons of girls have been asking me to do it again this year. I had tons of fun doing it last year, and who doesn't love to get paid to work out??

3)I started organizing my mom's estate.

We are trying to run the sale ourselves. Sometimes this sounds like a good idea. Other times not.

4) SSB from the OG w/ BFF

This is our go to lunch spot. Yum.

5) I got lost in Target
Surprisingly, I didn't spend too much.

6) I got halfway through Notorious Nineteen.

These books are always fun. (How has her hamster lived this long??)

7) I started a Crockpot Pinterest board.

That counts as something, right??

There were some other things I wanted to do this weekend. But I didn't. Maybe I will try something like Anne next weekend :)

What did you accomplish this weekend?

The best is yet to come

In high school, I realized that Britt Britt and I are only 2 weeks apart in age.
High school me was jealous of Brit's life, her fame, money, boyfriend, wearing matching outfits with said boyfirend
Are you tired of me posting this picture yet? I'm not. :)
Then Brit went a bit crazy

Now... well, you know what she is like now

This post is actually not an ode to Brittney. Alison's post on stars her age got me thinking... I go back and forth about my feelings on being in my 30's. Sometimes its easy to get caught up in the numbers. These women are proof that age is just a number. These ladies all get a 2 syllable damn from me.
Alyson Hannigan is 38, BTW...

Reese Witherspoon: 36
Jennifer Aniston: 43
Julia Roberts: 45
Three kids under 8? You go girl.

Michelle Obama: 48
Say what you will about her husband's politics, this Lady has got some arms!

Jodie Foster: 50 (if you didn't catch that from her Globes speech...)
Speaking of arms...

Betty White: 91
I saw her on Hoda and Kathie Lee last week, and she totally reminded me of my Grandma.

Randoms

*Here is a life changer.

Frozen chopped onions. Some people may think it is silly. Others may think it is a waste of money. Yes, buying an onion and chopping it myself would be cheaper, but 91 cents isn't going to bankrupt us. And this way I don't cry. And the house doesn't stink like onions.  And none of it goes to waste. I've never eaten them raw, but if I have used them in taco meat, chili and stuffed peppers and I couldn't tell a difference.

*Meanwhile in the kitchen:
Do you use a potato masher to cook ground meat? I got the idea from Rachael Ray and it works great to break it up into little crumblies.

*I started the Couch to 5K program again after the first of the year with a friend of mine. I did it a few years ago and it was awesome. I even went on to run a marathon and a couple of halves. It's been awhile since I ran, and I am definitely out of running shape. We just finished week 2 and I am feeling pretty good about it. I've also been going to Zumba pretty regularly.

*Running outside in January sucks. Its cold. And sometime it snows and is icy. Yuck.

*This woman in New York posed as one of the Sandy Hook victim's aunt to raise money for the family. It was a scam. When Anderson Cooper asked her about it, she said she was framed by an enemy she has in the crafting community. Enemy in the crafting community. Yup, those people who craft, they are some evil geniuses.

* And you are welcome:
Portraits of people being blown by a leaf blower! Just about peed my pants!
What's going on with you lately??

Wedding weekend

This weekend I...

went to a wedding!

At a pizza place!

The couple has been together for 7 years, and after a conversation they had while decorating the Christmas tree, they planned the whole wedding in just under a month. She looked gorgeous, the wedding itself was short and sweet and the food was fantastic. (It helps when the pizza place uses local ingredients!) In a big fail I didn't take pictures except for the two you might have seen on instagram... one was a plate of pizza and beer and the other was this
The Mister and I played some air hockey at the reception. (How is that for a cool reception?!) It was a very close game. I won.

Confession: I really love weddings. My favorite part? The ceremony. I really love watching when two people are professing their love for each other and committing themselves to one another for life. This couple chose to have friends perform the ceremony and they wrote their own vows/promises to each other. They had some humorous ones as well as some heartfelt, serious ones.

My second favorite part? Cake.

What is your favorite part of weddings?
