Looking Good Around Here

Notice anything different around here? Yup, Everyday Adventures got itself a little make over, courtesy of Kelly's Avenue Designs. I happened to WIN this blog design and I am quite happy with it. My Halloween Mantle

Today the lovely ladies hosting Sunday Social have asked us to post about fall. I thought I would show you my Halloween-y themed mantle. It will get changed on November 1 and become more neutral until the big guns come out for Christmas.

Most of this stuff I made last year. I redid my mummy pumpkin this year with a fake pumpkin I bought in January last year for 90% off at Michael's. The post on the giant candy corn is here. The tray they are sitting in is a Goodwill find. I just replace the fabric for each season so you don't see the hot pink inside. Last year I also had some of that spider web stuff inside the tray, but it looked a lot like snow, so I took it out and used it in my Christmas decorations instead. New this year is the mason jars of candy corn. Totally stole that idea from here.

This one seems a little to fancy for me and my current mantle, but if I ever get rid of the candy and class things up a bit this would be at the top of my list.

Honestly, fall was always on the bottom of my favorite seasons list when I was younger, but now that I have matured (and you be mature you have to pronounce it ma-tour) I have really started to enjoy it.

How about you, do you decorate for Halloween? I don't have kids so it seems kind of silly, but every time I look at my mantle I smile.

High Five, It's Friday

As you know I have been having a rough few weeks, but I thought I would look at those things that have made me smile this past week.

My leadership students got me these flowers when I came back to work last week. Yes, it was last week but they smell SO good. I kept them in my classroom because 8th grade boys do not smell good.

My big blog win from Angi. Yes, I already posted about it, but that Alaska mug was perfect for my Delux Kraft mac and cheese last night. And the head band is fantastic.

Dutch Bros. is an Oregon based coffee chain and they give away their stickers for free. I have never wanted one, but this one was way to cute to pass up. It's their breast cancer awareness sticker and I love it. I think it will go on my water bottle but I haven't decided yet.

And the big one... I was in a flash mob during an assembly at school yesterday. Well, I guess technically I organized, choreographed and then danced in a flash mob at school yesterday. I was so freaking exhausted after wards.

If I get a better video, I might post it later, but this is the first one that hit facebook.

It's Okay Thursday

It's okay that I am a bit of an airhead right now...

One of the "now trending" stories on Yahoo said "Tanning Cancer" and all I thought was "What Tanning Chatum has cancer? So sad!"

Yeah, it was about the "new" story that tanning beds lead to skin cancer.

Seriously, why did we need researchers to tell us this? Didn't they already research that?

**Edited to add*** It's okay that I totally didn't see that I switched his name. I really thought his name was Tanning Chatum when I first posted this. I actually thought I had called him Tanning throughout this whole post when I saw a couple of comments on my email. (I didn't. In fact I had corrected myself by the end of the post.)Yup. Airhead. Or tired. Or distracted.

It's okay that I am completely uninterested in the debate/election/politics. I try to pay attention, but I get tired of people saying how great their candidate is and how bad the other guy is. All of these people are biased, so how does someone actually find out the truth?

It's okay that I am trying to keep myself as busy as possible. When I have the down time is when I start to get sad.

It's okay that I am now going to leave you with a bunch more pictures of Channing Tatum, because really, that's what we all want to see.

It's okay that I only posted pictures of Channing without his shirt. I mean, really, what is the point in pictures of him with his shirt on?
